COMPREHENSIVE THERAPY PROGRAMS.
Pre-Natal Care
A program designed to help women to cope with the aches and pains that can accompany pregnancy. Whether it's low back pain, hip pain, wrist pain, ankle pain, general fatigue and soreness, we have seen it all. No two pre-natal programs are ever the same. We adapt and modify to each patients' needs and levels.
Scoliosis
Pre-Teen and Teenagers are prime candidates for developing scoliosis during their growth spurts. Most "S" curves are subtle, some are more pronounced. Not every "S" curve can be 100% corrected. A correct stretching and strengthening program, however, may be able to halt progression and lessen the effects.
Whiplash Injuries
Utilizing thermal modalities to help ease the pain, placing you in a correct stretching program and gradually working in strengthening exercises, our Whiplash program has shown tremendous success in helping patients recover. Our goal is to wean you off the collar, improve your neck and upper spine mobility and gradually progress through a strengthening program.
Sports Injuries
The Merrimack Valley Physical Therapy staff is trained with handling all sports injuries from shoulder separations, knee injuries, ankle sprains, hamstring pulls, tennis elbow, golf elbow, etc. Our staff is also trained in sports taping techniques. Regardless of the sport, our goal is to have you return to your optimal level.
Back School
Part boot camp part palliative care, our Back School program focuses not only in returning your neck, low back and core to it’s original level, but to exceed that level. While we want your back to be stronger, we want to make it feel better. Our staff is trained in helping get that neck pain or back pain under control to maximize your sessions here.
Neck and Lumbar
Most injuries that occur with back and neck areas are due to poor positioning at work resulting in weakness and pain. Some of the most common complaints we hear are stiff neck, sciatica pain, and lower back pain. The big focus for these areas are strengthening and postural muscles with treatments using manual or mechanical traction, use of manual skills for joint mobilizations, and focus on use of soft tissue massage to improve overall mobility.
